To The Bean.

Moon Handbooks 2009: The Magic Bean is still a vegetarian restaurant at heart. Salads, pizza and ... coffee-served inside or on the patio- have made this place one of the more popular gringo stopovers in New Town. The food is dependably good and comes in generous portions. There’s also a long list of natural juices.

Rough Guide 2007 Accomodations
A handful of rooms above the popular café some with bunk and shared bath others with double and suite bath. All are spotlessly clean, light and airy and come with free luggage storage breakfast and WiFi internet access. Dorms $ 8.90 about $12 per person

Rough Guides Restaurants 2007: Restaurant The Magic Bean- Same location as the hotel. Hugely popular restaurant and café with a little garden warmed by hot coals where you can sit out until late. Great for its moderately priced breakfasts, brownies, strudels, pancakes, sandwiches, organic salads and other backpacker friendly fare.

*Lonely Planet 2009: Long the epi-center of the Mariscal (Quito tourist district) The Magic Bean serves a variety of well-prepared breakfasts, lunches, juices and snacks for the ever-present crowd of hungry travelers.

*VIVA 2009: From the ‘have a nice day’ sign by the bar to the huge pancakes served for breakfast, there’s nothing Ecuadorian about this place. But unless you’re seeking an authentic dining experience you’re unlikely to be disappointed. The cosy patio café is always packed with travellers and a great place to meet people, and all the dishes on the mind-bogglingly huge menu are excellent.
